Night Riding

This is just the best, nothing can beat a good bit of night riding and with our all year round Wednesday night rides we get to do lots of it. Even in the middle of summer lights are essential kit for our rides even if just for the blast back from the pub.

When possible some of us try to get out on other evenings too and a few times a year do what we term as ' the bacon butty ride' . The above picture of George and Mike shows us near the top of Leith Hill on one such occasion with the stoves on the go, its a real pleasent way to while away an evening.

Heres Mike again but this time at the start of a snowy winters night ride just near the top of the 'Rockery' climb out of Westcott.

Another night and another ride. This time its of me on my way to a Darts match with George. Yes I did say Darts, George and myself both play for the Plough at Coldharbour and try to cycle to games when possible so we can get 'double' enjoyment out of the evening.

This is a Wednesday night ride pic and for some reason I really like it despite not being able to make out exactly whos in it. All I can say is its at one of the many re-groupings that happen throughout the evening to make sure we don't drop/lose anyone.

I think this is near the start of what was one of the best trails ever on Leith Hill, 'White Jam'. Sadly that whole area of woodland got harvested and in the process the trail was completely destroyed leaving it unrideable ever since.
